Wholesale Tea Cost Calculator

Kilo prices are how tea is sold. Cost per cup is how it is budgeted. This converts between them — and usually shows that upgrading the leaf costs less than expected.

Hotel sachet 2 g · pyramid bag 2.5–4 g · loose leaf pot 5–8 g

For a hotel: rooms × occupancy × servings per room per night.

How to read the result

At a 2 g fill, one kilogram yields 500 servings. That means a 10 USD/kg difference in wholesale price works out to two cents per cup. For a hotel, that is almost always the cheapest guest-perception improvement available.

Getting the servings-per-day figure right

For a hotel, multiply rooms by occupancy rate by servings per occupied room per night. A 200-room property at 70% occupancy with 1.5 servings per room is 210 servings a day. Add restaurant and banqueting separately — those run on different fill weights.

What this does not include

The figures cover tea only. For a finished-format programme, add the sachet, envelope, printing and cartoning cost per unit — we quote those separately because they depend on your artwork and volume.
