Single-Origin Gongfu Black Tea from Jishou, Hunan

Orthodox gongfu black tea made from the Huangjincha cultivar. Post-Qingming plucking, full withering-to-drying process, five grades from pure bud to teabag cut.

Black tea is our core business. All of it is made from the Huangjincha cultivar grown inside the geographical-indication area of Jishou, and processed by the orthodox gongfu method — withering, rolling, oxidation, drying, then sorting and refiring.

The cultivar's defining measurable trait is its amino acid concentration: 7.8% by laboratory analysis, roughly twice that of comparable cultivars harvested in the same period. In the cup this reads as pronounced sweetness and unusually low astringency, which is why the same leaf tolerates longer steeping than most Chinese black teas without turning harsh.

Grades run from BT-04 (pure bud) down to BT-05 (teabag cut). Buyers working on a price-sensitive blend usually start at BT-03; buyers building a single-origin retail line usually start at BT-01.
